Switzerland Visa Information

What basic documents are required?

1. Appointment letter

2. Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of return from Schengen area

3. Visa application form

4. Travel insurance

5. Hotel reservation for all destinations in Schengen

6. Round trip flight ticket reservation

7. Copy of passport bio page

8. Copy of any previous Schengen visa

9. Copy of civil id - must be valid for 3 months from date of return

10. One recent passport size photograph (W: 4 cm H: 5 cm) with white background

11. For children less than 18 years, parents consent form signed by both parents. Visa application form must also be signed by both parents

12. Only for non-kuwaiti applicants - Recent original salary certificate from the company with details of salary drawn, designation, and tenure at the company. The salary certificate must be on company's letter head and signed by an authorized signatory.

13. Only for non-kuwaiti applicants - Original or online bank statement for last 3 months

Additional documents:

For Business visa applications:

1. Invitation letter from a company/organization in Switzerland mentioning details of applicant including passport details

For visiting family or friends:

1. Invitation letter from the host with details of applicant, host's address and contact details

2. Copy of host's passport/residence permit

3. Copy of host's employment contract and residence lease/ownership document

For Medical visa applications:

1. Letter from a doctor or recognized hospital in Switzerland mentioning all relevant details about patient, medical treatment etc.

2. Confirmed medical appointment in Switzerland

For Nannie/Housemaid visa applications:

1. Confirmed hotel booking or proof of alternate accommodation

2. Liability declaration from duly filled and signed along with sponsor's copies of passport. valid Schengen visa and work contract

What fees need to be paid?

Visa fee to be paid at Visa Application Center:

1. Above 12 years: 26.000 KD each applicant

2. Child between 6 to 12 years: 13.000 KD each applicant

3. Child less than 6 years: 0 KD

4. EU spouse & immediate family members: 0 KD

VFS service fees to be paid online:

• 7.350 KD each applicant

SOUQ VISA service charges:

1. Appointment booking: 5 KD each appointment (Group discount available)

2. Form filling: 3 KD each applicant

3. Passport collection from VFS: 2 KD per passport (Group discount available)

4. Passport delivery to home/office: 3 KD per passport (Group discount available)

5. Hotel booking: 5 KD

6. Flight booking: 5 KD

Other important information

Processing Time:

1. Mostly applications for Kuwaiti citizens are processed within 15 calendar days

2. For non-kuwaiti applicants, processing time can be anywhere between 15 to 20 working days
